The Inspiration of the Dharma
What teachers have inspired you? In our work, schooling and in the arts, we are often moved by inspiring teachers. We are animated by the gifts of teachers who offer the realization of their experience, their understanding and their devotion to what moves their heart.
In Buddhism we have been motivated by teachers who have given themselves to the dharma, who have devoted themselves to the truth, and who have dedicated themselves to their own awakening and the awakening of others.
In this five week class we will illuminate the inspiration that has been birthed by a number of teachers, including: Ajahn Chah, Jack Kornfield, Sharon Salzberg, Joseph Goldstein, Trungpa Rinpoche, Pema Chodron, Suzuki Roshi, Joko Beck, Zen Master Dogen, Dipa Ma, & Venerable Analayo. These teachers bring a breadth and depth to the Buddha Dharma that encourage us all. We will share stories and examples of how their teachings have enlivened our practice. Together we will study and contemplate them as human beings, exploring what they offer us for our personal and collective awakening.
Each week will include Meditation, a Dharma talk and Interactive Investigation. It is recommended to attend the full series rather than a drop in class.
The class is led by Eugene Cash. Eugene is the founder of SFI. He has been a Buddhist teacher for thirty years and is still inspired to practice and continue awakening.
